Whether you are new to therapy or are looking for a place to continue your mental health journey, my goal is to work with you to co-create a non-judgemental space that nurtures healing and deepens insight for you and/or your relationship. I work from a systemic perspective that centers your lived experiences, personal relationships, culture and community which allows me to better understand you and the issues you are facing. Through our conversations, we will identify what is important to you, what your goals are, and shine a light on your strengths and unique abilities.
I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and moved to Madison in pursuit of my bachelor's degree in biology and psychology from University of Wisconsin - Madison. It was here that I developed a keen interest in human sexuality and psychology. My research in reproductive endocrinology and my coursework in gender studies gave me a multifaceted foundation in these topics that benefited me greatly as I sought my masters degree in marriage and family therapy at Edgewood College.
After receiving my masters in marriage and family therapy, I started Equilibrium Psychotherapy. My intention with this practice is to contribute to Madison's vibrant community, create a welcoming environment for personal growth and healing, and collaborate with people to build better relationships with the people they love and themselves. I see a wide range of clients however I specialize in working with couples, ENM relationships, sex and sexuality, coping with anxiety and depression, and life transitions.
Alongside my work at Equilibrium Psychotherapy, I am also a lead mediator at Madison Divorce Mediation. My training in conflict resolution and background in couples therapy enables me to assist folks through this difficult process with compassion. As a team, we work to make plans for co-parenting that put children's needs first and resolve disagreements in a way that honors the client's goals.
The hero of my tale – whom I love with all the power of my soul, whom I have tried to portray in all his beauty, who has been, is, and will be beautiful – is Truth.
